The new nuclear reactors are being build in Plant Vogtle in Geogia and it is supported by the Department of Energy and The president, etc. The new nuclear power plants cost about $6.5 billion to be created and expected to be done by 2019. The new nuclear reactors give out 1,100-megawatt, which provided a lot of energy. According to Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, he stated that the new plants will provide carbon-free electricity to the consumer. This is important because they are moving "toward a low-carbon energy future". President Obama also stated that it will help to reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions, but also it will affect the decreasing of natural gas prices, and the slow growth in energy demand, etc. Researchers have different ideas and they are supporting the small modular nuclear reactors instead because it would be easier to built in factory and is still able to provide a lot of energy. Researchers also believed that it can replace the large coal boilers plants and able to work in area where the large reactor isn't able to. But the 2 new nuclear power plants had been announced about 5 days ago they will continue to built it and they hope to see it become a reality.
